We Sing Of The Creator!!
This week we looked at the first part of the We Cannot Keep From Singing Story Cube, "We Sing Of The Creator". We looked at Psalm 24:1 in both the Good News Translation and The Message translation. The Message translation helps the kids understand what is actually being said.
"The world and all that is in it belong to the Lord; the earth and all who live on it are his." GNT
"God claims Earth and everything in it, God claims World and all who live on it." The Message
We talked about the different parts of God's creation - air, water, earth, and living things. We then used the donated magazines (thanks!) to find examples of God's creation.
Split into groups, we found 2-5 examples of each part. We then got back into a big group and thought about the connections between the different parts of creation that we found. We noticed a connection between all the different aspects of creation, just like we find in God's world.
At the end of our Sunday School lesson, we distributed the first Sunday School newsletter! It is available to pick up on our Sunday School bulletin board!
Jordan and I will not be at Sunday School this week (September 23), but Linda has kindly taken over for us! She will be looking at Fruits of the Spirit and how we can share our fruits.
Have an excellent couple weeks! See you October 2nd!

Welcome to This Year's Sunday School!!
Hi everyone! Welcome to the Young United Church Sunday School blog! If you don't know already, Jordan and I (Kathryn) will be taking on the roles of Sunday School teachers for another year! We're really looking forward to spending the time with the kids, growing and learning along side them!
Our first Sunday School class will take place on September 11, 2011. In this class, we will be going over some expectations for the kids and introducing our new format for our lessons. We will play some get to know you games and (hopefully) get to know everyone that is going to be there! We will hopefully have time for each of us to make an "All About Me" poster to share with everyone!
We will also be introducing the "We Cannot Keep From Singing" story cube that we will be using for the first few weeks of Sunday School. It uses images from the "We Cannot Keep From Singing" book and select verses from "A Song Of Faith". We also have many placemats with these images on them, so expect to see those around sometime soon!
We hope you all had a wonderful summer and look forward to spending the 2011/2012 season with you!
